
Kat Fuqua, one of the nation’s top junior riders, has enrolled in Clarkson University’s Equestrian Studies courses for the second consecutive year. The classes, taught by Piper Klemm, Ph.D. and publisher of The Plaid Horse, feature three subjects:
Business and Bias in the Equestrian Industry
Grit, Toughness, and Contemporary Equestrian Coaching
English Riding: History, Culture, and Industry Evolution

This summer Clarkson University will once again offer online equestrian college courses. The three three-credit-hour courses will be offered and taught by Prof. Piper Klemm, Ph.D., publisher of The Plaid Horse.

George Williams had Kat Fuqua, who is in the Discover Dressage USEF/USDF Emerging Athlete Program and from Atlanta, work on bringing DreamGirl’s shoulder in to a “half shoulder-in” while cantering down the long side. The goal was to get the Dutch Warmblood to stay in front of Fuqua’s inside leg and into the outside rein to carry more weight on her hind legs.
