JUMPERS

An early form of show jumping first was incorporated into the Olympic Games in 1900. Show jumping in its current format appeared in 1912 and has thrived ever since, its recent popularity due in part to its suitability as a spectator sport that is well adapted for viewing on television.

2023 Kat says β€œI like doing the jumpers because I can have a forward relaxed rhythem and I can ride in my own style. In the Hunters your style is usually judged for perfection based on the moment and who is judging. I can make more quick reactions because I need to turn tight to the jumps and go fast. I like to go fast because it makes the jumps easy for the horse when you have pace. β€œ Like with all her horses, Kat loves the most spending time at the barn. β€œIt’s really important to bond with all my horses regardless of the discipline. Especially with my jumpers, we really have to trust each other. There can be little room for hesitation if you want to be safe.”
